What types of household items is OPUS looking for ?

 OPUS specializes in all types of furniture from vintage to contemporary.   Items such as sofas, dining room sets, bureaus, chairs, chandeliers, lamps, pictures, mirrors, linens and most home decor items.  Our decision to accept an item is based upon a number of things such as condition, style, color, season and demand. However if it is a unique or collectable item we may consider it. We will make the decision at the time of your appointment.

* Coming Aug 15th, 2011- OPUS will be offering Ebay services.  If you have an unusual item that needs a national audience in order to get top dollar.  EBAY is the venue for you. See below under EBAY SERVICES for our criteria &  fees.

What other types of items does OPUS accept?

We are currently ramping up our clothing and accessory department.  We are looking for vintage and finer clothing, mall or boutique labels only.  In addition we also except purses, scarves, belts and many other fine accessories.  

Do I need an appointment to consign items? 

 YES.  In order to service you better an appointment is needed.  Securing a time allows us to give you our full attention and process your items and agree upon the best price.  Please call 603-645-6787 for an appointment **Due to high demand for consignments and limited space, OPUS often books out several weeks in advance**

Appointment Musts!   We  ask that your items be cleaned, polished and not chipped or broken. Upholstery must be without tears, stains, smoke odor or animal hair. We must reasonably be able to put no less that $10.00 on an item.  OPUS reserves the right to decline anything we feel is not saleable.  We will accept no more than 15 items per visit.  Also remember what your items look like in the event you need to pick them up if they do not sell.  Bringing  a box may be helpful  if you have a few items.   Appts can be booked no less than 6 weeks apart.

 Any and all large furniture pieces such as tables, bureaus, desks & sofas  need to be pre-approved via email.

Are jewelry & accessories a separate appointment ?

YES.   It often takes additional time to process your jewelry due to weight and testing of metals.  We take in jewelry ,clothing and accessories at your one hour appointment.  Please call 603 645-6787 to secure a time.

Who sets the price?

Our knowledgeable staff will determine prices with your approval. We welcome any information you have regarding the age and original cost of the piece. We want to be as fair as possible to determine the saleable price. Keep in mind the economic times upon us and that we will need to move your items within 60 days.

What will it cost to sell items through OPUS?

We give the consignor 60% on items over $30 dollars and 50% on items less than $30 dollars. Your items are left with OPUS for a maximum of 60 days, with a 10% markdown after 30 days and an additional 10-25% markdown after 45 days.    Your items will EXPIRE after 60 days and any item not picked up by the consignor before the 60-day expiration will become the property of OPUS Consignors.    OPUS reserves the right to mark down the item further or choose to  donate to a local charity. *** 
YOU WILL NOT BE COMPENSATED ON ANY EXPIRED ITEMS. 

When and how do Consignors get paid? 

By the 10th of each month checks will be cut for items that have sold the preceeding month.  Checks are mailed directly to the consignors' mailing address.  A $1.50 processing fee is charged at each payout for postage and administrative fees.  Please note if a check is lost or an address is incorrect and a new check needs to be reissued the consignor may be responsible for any additional cost that we may incur. Checks are not cut for less than $8.00.  
Any monies due less than this can be collected at the front counter.

Ebay Services

If you have an item we think has a potential value greater than $100 dollars.  We may consider selling it on Ebay.  Our criteria for these services are as follows:
 Items between $100 to $250 we take 40%
 Items over $250 we take 30 %.
* all ebay seller fees wil be including in our commission rate !!!!
All items will be credited in your account and paid as per our regular payment policies.
   
This is a great option to maximize profit onthose unique smaller items that need a national or international audience.
Where do I go when picking up or delivering furniture ?

Please park alongside the Log Street entrance-- at the side of the building.   You can load/unload your goods through the black sliding door.   

What about transportation of furniture?

OPUS has names of reliable people who can help you arrange pickup and delivery of your furniture. Fees vary depending on quantity, size, distance and number of men required to move your pieces. The movers are independent contractors who do not work for OPUS. Their names are provided for your convenience. OPUS does not assume any responsibility for your items or the movers. 

**Remember you must bring adequate help to load or unload your items. OPUS does not have staff to assist you.Thanks kindly.**
